Growth in Numbers

The Studies in Women and Gender program continues to grow!  Our student enrollment has grown from 421 during the previous academic year to 517 students in 2007-2008. Last year SWAG offered over 50 primary and adjunct courses to U.Va. students, reaching an additional 347 students. This broad reach is reflected in our steady increase of majors. We started with six majors in 1992 and now range between 45 and 60 majors per academic year.

Gifts

As our faculty and student numbers grow, we are especially appreciative of support that enables the Studies in Women and Gender program to host national and international speakers, to provide current resources and media, to encourage faculty-student interaction at program events, to offer the twenty-first annual essay contest award, and to be present in the life of University of Virginia students, faculty, and staff. The Studies in Women and Gender program is grateful to friends of the program for your support. Your donation has an enormous impact for our students and faculty.
